The University of Michigan has successfully continued its accreditation with the Higher Learning Commission (HLC). The Institutional Actions Council confirmed U-M’s accreditation status at its January 25, 2021 meeting, with the next comprehensive reaffirmation scheduled for 2029–30.
Despite adjustments to review processes during COVID-19, U-M’s accreditation timeline remains unchanged, ensuring alignment with the original review cycle. The HLC’s action affirms the quality and integrity of U-M’s academic and institutional practices and reflects the strength of its response during an extraordinary period.
