As part of the Higher Learning Commission’s Open Pathway process, each participating institution reports on a major initiative that is intended to have wide-reaching impacts on institutional quality.

For the 2020 cycle, U-M’s submission focused on the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion strategic planning and assessment process, including the 51 plans developed by individual schools, colleges, and campus units.

Since launching in 2015, new DEI initiatives have been incorporated into many aspects of the university’s culture and operations. Progress is documented each year in an annual report, which is shared with the campus community each fall, as part of U-M’s Diversity Summit.
